ToneTag brings voice-led commerce to Tata’s Sierra.ev with DrivePay –

ToneTag, a deep technology platform pioneering proximity commerce, today announced the expansion of DrivePay to the recently launched Sierra.ev. DrivePay is natively integrated into Sierra.ev’s infotainment system, introducing voice-led commerce, allowing drivers to place orders from their favorite cafes and top up their FASTag accounts via voice commands, while also discovering payable charging stations along the way, all without switching apps or interrupting their journey.

The most unique feature in this integration is a new voice-led commerce layer added to DrivePay’s existing in-car payments ecosystem. It is designed to enable seamless and hands-free transactions, allowing drivers to discover relevant services and take action in real-time, whether ordering from a nearby cafe or managing FASTag recharges directly from the infotainment interface. Merchant ordering has also been enabled as part of this voice layer, with Blue Tokai Coffee being the first integration.

DrivePay’s EV charging feature follows the same contextual approach, displaying nearby charging stations in real-time and displaying payment-ready options filtered based on charging capacity and trip relevance, reducing planning effort and shortening the decision-making cycle for EV users.

Mr. Sven Patuschka, Chief Technology Officer, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited, said the launch of Sierra.ev marks a major step forward in the company’s customer-first commitment to mobility. DrivePay simplifies charging and related payments directly on the vehicle, reinforcing the focus on meaningful connected car experiences.

Mr. Vivek Kumar Singh, co-founder and lab director of ToneTag, said that the future of payments lies in becoming invisible, connected and embedded in daily experiences, and mobility is becoming a key frontier of this transformation. DrivePay on Sierra.ev takes a major step towards redefining in-car commerce.

With this integration, ToneTag is expanding its payment capabilities into infotainment and connected device environments and is also evaluating future expansion into categories such as QSR, restaurants, fuel payments and hyperlocal commerce. DrivePay is built with strong encryption, secure authentication, and compliance-driven protections to ensure in-car transactions are secure and frictionless.
