Montra Electric, the clean mobility arm of the Murugappa Group, has rolled out the 1,000th unit of its Montra Aviator from its Ponneri manufacturing facility in Chennai. This milestone is a significant step in the company’s efforts to scale electric cargo mobility solutions across India.
The milestone comes amid the steady shift towards electrification in the commercial vehicle ecosystem, with increasing adoption in e-commerce, FMCG and last-mile delivery operations. It also follows the recent expansion of the EVIATOR portfolio with the launch of the EVIATOR 350 (32 kWh) and EVIATOR 350L+ (50 kWh) variants, further strengthening Montra Electric’s presence in the fast-growing eSCV segment.
Engineered for high-use urban logistics, the EVIATOR platform is built to deliver consistent performance, high uptime and superior operating economics. The vehicle offers a payload capacity of 1.7 tonnes and a loading deck of 10.3 feet, enabling efficient movement of high-volume cargo on intra-city routes.
Powered by a liquid-cooled Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, EVIATOR offers a real-world driving range of over 170+ km, making it suitable for intensive daily operations. It supports CCS2 DC fast charging, allowing it to charge up to 80% in about 60 minutes. With a top speed of 80 kmph, the vehicle is optimized for time-sensitive logistics use cases.
