Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has officially started sales of the all-new Honda Super-One compact EV in Japan from April 22, 2026.

Developed under the grand concept of “e:Dash Booster”, the Super-One is designed to transform everyday mobility into a more exciting and uplifting experience. Based on the Honda N-One E, the new compact EV has a dedicated chassis with a wide body stance and includes a number of features aimed at enhancing the comfort and enjoyment in the car for customers.

The name “Super-One” reflects Honda’s ambition to create a vehicle that goes beyond traditional EV and mini-vehicle standards (“Super”), while providing a unique value proposition that only Honda can offer (“The One and Only”).

In addition to outstanding environmental performance and everyday utility, the Super-One will deliver an exciting and uplifting driving experience combining the “joy of driving” enabled by sporty driving characteristics unique to compact EVs, with sensory experiences that stimulate all of the driver’s senses, including the visual and auditory senses.

Honda is now adding the Super-One as a model with elevated value derived from “fun” features to its EV lineup that includes the N-Van E: commercial-use mini-EV, the N-One E: mini-EV, and the all-new Insight crossover passenger EV. Additionally, Honda will continue to expand its EV lineup to suit the needs of customers in Japan, including the scheduled launch of an EV version of the popular N-Box in 2028.

Key Features of Super-One

design

As a key feature of the exterior design, the blister fenders encircling the wide tires emphasize the low and wide stance, conveying a sense of dynamic driving. Furthermore, the aerodynamic design developed specifically for this model, featuring front and rear air ducts, combines practical features supporting excellent driving performance with practical beauty.

As for the interior, the sports seats designed specifically for this model have an asymmetric layout of blue surface material, which adds a sense of playfulness, and the horizontal orientation of the instrument panel realizes a clear field of vision that will enable the driver to concentrate more on driving.

packaging

Based on the N-One E: platform, which realized the surprisingly spacious cabin that defies its compact exterior, the tread was widened by 10 mm, resulting in a further increase in handling performance. The Super-One inherits the dive-down and tip-up mechanism of the rear seats from the N series, which brings both the spatial value of the vehicle and the fun driving experience to a higher level.

dynamics

Featuring the lightest vehicle weight in the category at 1,090 kg, a wheel width of 1,345 mm and wide, large-diameter tyres, the Super-One achieves excellent handling with high stability even when cornering and at high-speed driving. Additionally, five drive modes – ECON, CITY, NORMAL, SPORT, and BOOST – are available, enabling the driver to select as per their preference. In City Mode, the driver can use the Single Pedal Control (One-Pedal Driving) function which enables the driver to accelerate, slow down and even stop the vehicle completely using only the accelerator pedal.

power unit

The adoption of a compact e-axle and a thin, high-capacity battery enhance the Super-One’s spatial value. The BOOST mode developed specifically for this model increases the maximum power output from 47kW in the normal mode to 70kW so that the power unit can fully unleash its performance potential to realize powerful and fast acceleration.

Additionally, by synchronizing the simulated 7-speed transmission that reproduces the gearshift feel of a conventional multi-gear transmission and the Active Sound Control system that produces and plays a powerful, “virtual” engine sound inside the cabin according to driver input through the accelerator, the Super-One enables the driver to enjoy the feeling of driving an engine-powered sporty vehicle while providing the benefits of an EV. Apart from the advanced output and sound effects, visual excitement is also created through LED instrument panel line illumination and triple-meter display on the front passenger side that changes from blue to purple when BOOST mode is activated.

The Super-One realizes a range of 274 km (170 mi) per charge in WLTC mode, and has a charging time of approximately 4.5 hours with regular charging and approximately 30 minutes with fast charging, reducing the stress of waiting for a charge.

Additionally, with the use of the Honda Power Supply Connector, an external AC power output device, the Super-One can output up to 1,500W of power, which can be used to access power tools away from home and/or as a backup power source in case of an emergency.

other features

The Super-One became the first Honda compact model equipped with a Bose premium sound system as standard equipment in Japan. The system was jointly developed with Bose Corporation, adopting Bose’s original Dynamic Speed Compensation technology. The system comprises eight speakers including a 13.1-litre high-powered subwoofer installed in the cargo area and delivers well-balanced and high-quality sounds – from powerful deep bass to clear highs – and delivers an immersive audio experience.

Additionally, the Super-One is equipped with a 9-inch Honda Connect display along with Google’s standard equipment. Apart from supporting a wide range of services offered through Honda Total Care Premium, the system enables seamless use of various applications including Google Maps between the Super-One and the user’s smartphone.

The all-new Honda Super-One is equipped with Honda Sensing as standard, offering a comprehensive suite of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies. Key features include Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow, Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Traffic Jam Assist, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM), Traffic Sign Recognition, Auto High Beam headlights, Parking sensors and multiple low speed collision and unintended acceleration mitigation functions.

In Japan, the Honda Super-One is priced at 3,390,200 yen (including 10% consumption tax) for the FF version with seating capacity for four.

The compact EV will be available in a range of exterior colors, including the newly introduced Boost Violet Pearl as well as Platinum White Pearl, Charge Yellow, Luminous Gray and Crystal Black Pearl. Customers can also choose from several two-tone combinations paired with a black roof.
