Design and Features

The Okinawa Oki 90 electric scooter will come with a bold design. It will get LED headlamps, LED turn indicators, and LED taillight. The scooter will be given bigger alloy wheels like a motorcycle. The seats are expected to provide adequate riding comfort to the rider and passenger. At the rear, it gets a thick grab rail. It will also get a fully digital instrument cluster, switch gears on both the handles, a compact rider footboard.

Electric two-wheeler maker iVOOMi Energy has launched two new ‘Made in India’ electric scooter models, the S1 and Jeet, in the Indian market. The iVOOMi scooters loaded with smart technology and features are going to get a top speed of up to 60Kmph with a range of up to 130KM. It will also get features like comfortable riding and quick charging. 

iVOOMi S1 Price and Features The

iVOOMi S1 is a high-speed electric scooter priced at ₹84,999. The scooter is powered by a 2KW electric motor, which comes with a top speed of 65 kmph and a curb weight of 75 kg. It has disc brake facility. It is powered by a 60V, 2.0Kwh swappable Li-ion battery, which takes 3-4 hours to fully charge. According to the company, it can go up to 115 km in full charge.

iVOOMi Jeet Price and Features

It has been brought in two variants: Jeet and Jeet Pro. Their price is Rs 82,999 and Rs 92,999 respectively. Coming to the premium design, Jeet and Jeet Pro also support swappable batteries. Jeet and Jeet Pro have 1.5kw-2kW battery pack respectively. These scooters offer a range of up to 130 km on a single charge. They have been brought in three color combinations: Red, Blue and Grey. 

Both these scooters have a ground clearance of 170mm, which is specially designed for Indian roads. Keeping in mind the comfort of the riders, the iVOOMi scooter has been provided with features like Find My Scooter, Large 30L Boot Space, Parking Assist and USB Charging. 

Sony and Honda partnership to make electric vehicles

Two big Japanese companies are partnering to make electric vehicles. Sony and Honda have decided to do a joint venture for this. Its first electric vehicle is planned to be launched by 2025. It will leverage Honda’s expertise in mobility development, technology and sales and Sony’s long experience in imaging, telecommunications, networks and entertainment.

Announcing the joint venture for Electric Vehicles, Honda Chief Executive Toshihiro Mibe said, “Sony and Honda share many historical and cultural similarities, but our areas of technology expertise are very different. In the meantime, this partnership will open many possibilities for mobility. Honda’s hybrid car sales are on the rise. Honda Motor, the second largest seller of hybrid cars in the US, posted a 67 per cent increase in hybrid car sales at 1,07,060 units. Electric vehicles run only on electricity and require a charging infrastructure, while hybrid EVs can run on gasoline as well as electricity.

Being equipped with a swappable battery, the range of Poise NX-120 and Grace e-scooters can be increased. The special thing is that both these modelsThe battery can be charged from 220V mains installed in the house. Nisiki Technologies says that it is also developing the Zuink e-scooter. It can deliver speeds of up to 90 km/h, while the maximum speed of 55 km/h is available with the Poise NX-120 and Grace e-scooter. 

The Poise NX-120 and Grace e-scooters get Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging port, tubeless tyres, effective front and rear braking systems besides ample legroom for rider and passenger. These electric scooters are manufactured at the company’s Bangalore facility. It has a capacity of 30,000 electric vehicles in the year 2022. This will be increased to about 100,000 electric vehicles by next year.

The company’s managing director, Vital Bellador, says they aim to strike a balance between technology, cost and sustainability. Linking this with the Swachh Bharat Mission, he said that the demand for electric vehicles has increased in all segments. The company is partnering with swapping stations and P2P charging partners to provide charging points across the country. With this, the Poise NX-120 and Grace e-scooters will get battery swapping support across the country. Nisiki Technologies says that it is also developing the Zuink e-scooter. No information has been given regarding its launch yet.
