Jio-bp, the electric vehicle charging brand of Reliance BP Mobility Limited (a joint venture of Reliance Industries and bp), has partnered with Kia India to integrate its charging network. Kia EV customers can now find, use and pay for Jio-bp pulse charging stations through K-Charge in the MyKia app. With the addition of Pulse Network, the platform provides access to over 23,500 charging points across India.
Integration works both ways. The 125 operational DC fast chargers at Kia dealerships and future chargers will gradually be added to Jio-bp’s Pulse Charging Pro app. In both apps, customers can find and navigate to chargers, initiate and monitor sessions, and pay securely.
Jio-bp offers over 7,000 charging points at over 1,100 active sites in over 300 cities, many of which are located on major national highways. Its DC fast chargers range from 60 kW to 480 kW, and the company says its network has an uptime of 96%.
Mr. Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Kia India, said the integration provides Kia EV customers with more charging options through a single platform. Jio-bp Chairman Mr Sarthak Behuria said India’s shift towards electric vehicles depends on building trust at scale. Mr Akshay Wadhwa, the company’s chief executive, said range anxiety was often about whether the next charger would work, pointing to the reliability of the network.
