JSW MG Motor India’s Windsor has crossed the 75,000-unit sales milestone in less than two years since its launch, cementing its position as India’s best-selling electric vehicle. With more than 19,000 units sold in 2026 alone and orders growing steadily, Windsor has become a defining product in India’s electric vehicle story – attracting not only buyers in metros but also increasingly non-metros and emerging market buyers.
The Windsor’s success is built on what JSW MG Motor India calls its ABC proposition – priced the same as an A-segment car, with the same exterior dimensions as a B-segment car and offering the interior space of a C-segment car. The combination of affordability, small footprint and spacious cabin space has struck a chord with Indian families who are looking for an electric car that doesn’t require them to compromise. Positioned as India’s first smart CUV, the car combines the spaciousness of a sedan with the versatility of an SUV.
On the technical front, the Windsor delivers 100kW of power and 200Nm of torque and is available in two battery configurations – a 38kWh pack with a range of 332km and a 52.9kWh PRO version with a range of 449km. It operates on a battery-as-a-service model with prices starting at Rs 9.99 lakh plus Rs 3.9 per km, lowering the barrier to electric vehicle ownership by decoupling the battery cost from the vehicle price.
Inside, the Windsor is equipped with business class Aero Lounge seats that recline 135 degrees and a 15.6-inch Grandview touch display on the center console. Its AeroGlide exterior design language aims to transcend traditional segment definitions and give the car a unique visual identity in an increasingly crowded market.
Mr. Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India, said Windsor has been a successful proposition that has resonated strongly with Indian car buyers and its reach across metros and emerging markets reflects India’s growing willingness to embrace sustainable transportation. He attributes this milestone to his team’s grit and determination to deliver a truly exceptional product.
JSW MG Motor India also reported overall sales growth of 13% in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, with Windsor’s continued growth momentum playing a central role in this performance.
