BYD India to increase EV prices by up to 2% from July 2026 –

Published:

BYD India has announced price revisions for its electric passenger vehicle product portfolio, with the revised prices effective from July 1, 2026.

The company said the increase, mainly driven by continued foreign exchange fluctuations, would be between 1% and 2%, depending on the model and variant.

To provide greater price certainty to customers, BYD India said buyers who completed bookings during May and June 2026 will continue to benefit from current prices, provided delivery is completed on or before July 31, 2026. Reservations made from July 1st will be subject to the revised prices.

Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicle (EPV) Business at BYD India, said the adjustment was necessitated by exchange rate changes.

“Even in a challenging market environment, BYD India remains focused on providing customers with high-value, advanced, safe and quality electric vehicle solutions. We continue to see strong demand for products such as BYD ATTO 3 and BYD SEALION 7, reflecting the growing confidence of Indian consumers in premium electric vehicles.”

The company noted that ATTO 3 has strengthened its position in the premium electric SUV segment in India, while the recently launched SEALION 7 has also received encouraging market response in India.

A key differentiator for BYD in India remains its emphasis on in-house technological innovation. The company highlighted its blade battery technology, battery-to-body integration and eight-in-one electric powertrain architecture, which together help enable faster charging, improved driving range, expanded cabin space and a connected driving experience across its entire electric vehicle portfolio.

Globally, BYD is also advancing its next-generation mobility technologies, including second-generation blade batteries and advanced flash charging systems designed to improve charging speed, safety, energy efficiency and overall vehicle performance.

The company currently operates through a network of 48 dealers across 40 cities in India, providing integrated sales and after-sales services across the country as part of its strategy to enhance customer accessibility and ownership experience.
