To unveil Montra Electric to unveil advanced EHCV manufacturing facility in Manesar. Vampire

Murugappa Group’s Clean Mobility Arm Montra Electric HCV (IPL Tech) is set to inaugurate its state -of -the -art Electric Heavy Commercial Vehicle (EHCV) manufacturing facility at Manesar, Haryana. This new plant represents an important step in transition to the dynamics of India’s permanent goods and further strengthens the leadership of Montra Electric in the EHCV segment.

Major highlights include India’s first all-women, a fully automated battery production unit, and deployment of integrated automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) with conveyor lines to streamline and enhance the EHCV production process.

Spread over 255,000 square feet of land with a 150,000 square-foot manufactured area, this feature will have a 6,000 units per year installed production capacity per year based on two-shifts, scalable up to 7,500 units per year with additional innings. It will be designed for flexibility, which has the ability to manufacture several product variants, including the Rhino EV series and future introduction. The feature will feature India’s first all-women battery production unit, which will highlight the commitment for gender inclusion and women empowerment in the EV region of Montra Electric.

The plant will incorporate 60 percent of robotics integration and advanced automation with full industry 4.0 digital manufacturing practices. This 1.7 GWH’s in-house battery pack assembly capacity and E & E (Electrical and Electronics) labs, QA labs, battery pack cyclers, rolls and brake testers, wheel alignment systems, headlamps AIMIND, and shower test facilities will be fitted with extensive testing infrastructure. This facility will also host R&D and prototype workshops to accelerate product growth. Montra electric will be a source of 74 percent components locally, except for imported cells, localization and supply chain will focus on flexibility.

The manesar feature is designed with stability in its origin. In addition to battery recycling and waste management initiative, the plant will include charging infrastructure within its premises. Renewable energy is expected to integrate in future expansion stages. Montra will also start local community engagement through electric skilling programs and tree plantation campaigns such as environmental drives.

Commenting on the opening, Mr. PV Satyanarayana, Chief Business Officer, Montra Electric HCV (IPL Tech) said, “The inauguration of our EV truck factory in Manesar is a defined step for the sustainable logistics of India. Through running all our women’s battery line and high localization, we are installing new benchmarks for innovation, employment and green dynamics.

The company will apply for benefits under the PM e-Drive Scheme and will find out additional state-level incentives to support its manufacturing expansion.
