Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) successfully organized the 3rd Vyapar Delhi and 22nd Vyapar Conclave at Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi. With the theme of “Vyapar Delhi – Badalti Dilli”, this high-level industry forum brought together more than 200 car dealers, senior policymakers, OEM leaders, financial institutions and field experts to discuss the future of car retail and travel in the national capital region.

Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of the National Capital Territory Government of Delhi, attended the conclave as the chief guest. She highlighted the critical role of the automotive retail industry in Delhi’s economic growth, job creation, road safety and environmental transformation.

Focused dialogue on policy, compliance and ease of doing business

Vyapar Delhi 2026 will feature policy-focused discussions and fireside chats addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing auto dealers in the capital, including:

Delhi electric vehicle draft policy, vehicle scrappage policy, MCD workshop classification-industrial and commercial, and the long-pending issue of compensation.

A dedicated technical session on compensation levies provides legal clarity and outlines a way forward to protect dealers’ legitimate financial credit.

“Badalti Dilli”: reimagining passenger mobility

A highlight of the conclave was the panel discussion titled ‘Badalti Dilli: Reimagining Passenger Transport in the Indian Capital’, which was attended by senior leaders from leading carmakers such as JSW Motors, Volvo Cars India, Honda Cars India, BYD India and Nissan Motor India.

The discussion explored changing consumer expectations, electrification pathways, product strategies and the role of dealers as key enablers of India’s mobility transformation.

smt. “We are committed to the mission of ‘Clean Delhi, Green Delhi and Smart Delhi’,” said Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister, Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi. “Our government has launched the most comprehensive EV policy in the country, allocating Rs 4,000 crore over the next four years to provide subsidies, tax breaks and removal of incentives to drive us towards green mobility.” To tackle pollution at its source, we are transforming our transport industry with significant investment in metros and building automated fitness centers to ensure every car on the road is fit and emission-free. Achieving “Viksit Bharat” by 2047 is only possible with “Viksit Delhi”. I call on car dealers to act as government “helpers” in motivating citizens to switch to clean energy. We are simplifying policies to make registration easier and more efficient, ensuring the people of Delhi have a world-class eco-friendly experience. Together we will transform Delhi into a city that defines the future of sustainable urban living. “

Mr CS Vigneshwar, President, FADA, emphasized that Delhi’s transformation requires a balanced and inclusive approach: “Delhi is moving forward, not just on its roads but also in its ambitions. At FADA, we believe that car dealers must become full partners in this transformation. While we fully support the city’s commitment to a green future and the draft EV policy, this transformation must include 17,500 trained professionals whose livelihoods are integrated into Delhi’s automotive ecosystem. Our Vision” Badalti Dilli” is an initiative that supports action faster than enforcement, where economic growth, road safety initiatives like CPR training and our ‘Buckle Up’ campaign, and environmental responsibility work together to move forward, leaving no one behind.”

He reiterated FADA’s continued engagement with policymakers, its focus on leadership development through the FADA Academy, GenX, and the Women in FADA Initiative, as well as its ongoing legal efforts on compensation issues.

Technology, security and future preparedness

The conference also features sessions on AI-led dealer transformation, future-proofing retail practices, and presentations from leading financial and technology partners.

Road safety continues to be a major undercurrent throughout the day, and FADA reiterates its commitment to helmet and seat belt awareness, responsible driving behavior, and dealer-level CPR and first aid training.

Shri Shailender Luthra, Chairman, FADA Delhi said, “Today’s gathering reflects the changes in Delhi and the evolution of the automotive retail landscape. The industry today is very different from what it was five years ago and we are witnessing a major shift driven by rising consumer confidence and aspirations, with car sales in Delhi growing by 17 per cent till March 2026. Annual new car registrations are approaching 8 lakh units.

Our industry remains a vital pillar of the city’s economy with 550 dealer outlets, providing employment to over 55,000 people and contributing approximately Rs 7,150 crore to Delhi through motor vehicle tax and GST – Rs 2,650 crore annually from motor vehicle tax and Rs 4,500 crore from the automotive industry through GST contribution.

The data clearly shows that India is no longer debating the adoption of electric vehicles but is actively embracing it. Delhi has seen a sharp increase in the number of electric commercial vehicles, with the adoption of electric two-wheelers growing by 62%. To support and lead this shift, FADA has proposed to the Delhi government to install 150 public charging stations at its own expense.

At the same time, we are committed to strengthening local employment through ITI’s Skills Development Center and proposing the establishment of a vehicle scrappage center to further support the government’s environmental goals. At FADA, we believe we are doing more than selling vehicles – we are shaping the future of mobility. As Delhi and its business evolve, I am confident that our dealers will not only keep up with the pace of change, but will lead this transformation towards a sustainable future. “

Vyapar Delhi 2026 reaffirms FADA’s role as a constructive stakeholder in formulating policies, supporting environmental goals, enhancing road safety outcomes and safeguarding livelihoods, ensuring that as Delhi grows, its transport ecosystem grows responsibly and inclusively.
