Mercedes-Benz India has recorded its highest-ever quarterly sales and best January-September results in the country. The luxury automaker retailed 5,422 vehicles between July and September 2026, up 6% from 5,119 units in the same period last year and 17% higher than the previous quarter. From January to September, sales increased about 8% from 14,132 units to 15,190 units.
The company attributed the strong quarter to holiday demand and its “Dream Days” event, which offered new financing options. Growth came from all three of its segments: premium luxury, core luxury and entry luxury.
Premium models including the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, G-Class, V-Class and AMG range grew by 13% and accounted for more than 25% of sales. The bespoke MANUFAKTUR personalization program accounts for approximately 75% of premium sales, with the AMG G 63 achieving its highest monthly sales ever. Overall, the AMG portfolio grew 18%.
The core luxury car segment consists of C-Class, long-wheelbase E-Class, GLC and GLE, accounting for approximately 60% of total sales. The long-wheelbase E-Class remains India’s best-selling luxury car. The entry-luxury car segment, which includes the GLA and CLA BEV, grew 4% and accounted for about 15% of sales.
Electric vehicles are another highlight. Mercedes-Benz’s electric car sales increased 16% despite limited supply. The new CLA BEV has received more than 1,000 orders, and the delivery period will be extended to March 2027. The EQS Maybach SUV has grown by 68%.
“Our record sales in each quarter of 2026 are driven by our unwavering focus on high-quality products, brand exclusivity and enhanced customer experience,” said Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
More launches are on the way. Deliveries of the new electric S-Class will begin in mid-October, with the top-spec MANUFAKTUR version already sold out this year. The GLC BEV, which won the German Premium Sedan of the Year award, will make its debut in India on November 4, 2026.
