Since the launch of the SEALION 7 electric SUV in February 2025, BYD India has delivered more than 5,000 units. The company calls it one of the strongest performing models in India.
SEALION 7 uses BYD’s blade battery and Cell-to-Body architecture. The Premium version comes with an 82.56 kWh battery and a claimed NEDC range of 567 kilometers. The dual-motor Performance version has 390 kW and 690 Nm and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Both come with a panoramic glass roof and a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen.
In August 2026, BYD launched the SEALION 7 Dynamic, equipped with a 71.8 kWh battery, a claimed NEDC range of 520 kilometers, and an ex-showroom introductory price of 4.19 million rupees. In October, it launched the premium Festive Edition priced at Rs 50.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is limited to 150 units and features a tan and black interior, quilted Nappa leather seats and a head-up display.
Mr. Rajeev Chauhan, Head of BYD’s Electric Passenger Vehicle Business in India, said: “SEALION 7 has been one of our strongest performing models in India and we are very proud of the response from its customers.”
According to the company, the SUV has received a Euro NCAP 5-star rating and won several awards.
