Zelio e-Mobility unveils Tanga Nine+ electric 3-wheeler at RideAsia Expo 2026

Zelio e-Mobility, a fast-growing Indian manufacturer of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers, unveiled its latest electric three-wheeler, the Tanga Nine+, at the RideAsia EV Expo 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The company, which has been achieving consistent year-on-year growth, is expected to officially launch the model in the second quarter of the current financial year.

The Tanga Nine+ marks a major upgrade over its predecessor, designed to meet the last-mile mobility needs in urban and semi-urban markets. One of the most notable enhancements is the introduction of the AutoSafe front design, which moves from the traditional open or mirror-front structure typically seen in three-wheelers. This advancement is intended to improve passenger safety and driver confidence in real-world operating conditions.

Additionally, the vehicle now offers an expanded seating capacity of up to 8 passengers, whereas in the earlier Tanga Nine variant it was 5, allowing higher passenger numbers and improving earning potential for operators. The product has been specifically developed to meet shared mobility use cases such as intra-city transportation, short-distance connectivity and high-frequency routes where efficiency, safety and capacity play a key role.

The Tanga Nine+ is engineered for reliable daily performance, offering a top speed of 45-50 km/h and a range of 150 km per charge. It is powered by a 2.5Kw motor with BLDC/PMSM technology and offers multiple battery configurations including 7.8kWh and 10kWh, providing flexibility depending on usage requirements.

Built for comfort and durability, the vehicle has 670 mm of leg space, gross vehicle weight of 900 kg and wheel and rim size of 3.75×1/4.00×12. It is equipped with Combi Braking System with drum brakes at both front and rear, ensuring stable and controlled braking performance. Charging options of 25A/45A support operational flexibility in various usage environments.

“Last mile mobility in India is rapidly evolving, and there is a clear need for solutions that balance security, capacity and economic feasibility,” said Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio e-Mobility. “With Tanga Nine+, we have focused on addressing these core needs by introducing an AutoSafe front design and significantly increasing passenger capacity. This product is designed to support operators with better earning potential while ensuring a safer and more comfortable experience for passengers.”

The 7th edition of RideAsia-EV brought together over 300 leading brands showcasing the latest products and technologies in the rapidly evolving electric mobility market, which is being shaped by shifting consumer demand, new innovations and emerging business channels. Zelio’s Tanga Nine+ attracted a lot of attention at the expo, generating a lot of interest and inquiries from visitors.

Since its inception in 2021, Zelio e-Mobility has steadily grown its presence in India’s EV market, backed by an annual manufacturing capacity of 72,000 units, a growing base of 2,00,000+ customers and an extensive dealership network of 350 outlets across 20 states and union territories.
