Zelio e-Mobility has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, marking an important milestone in its expansion strategy across South India. The new plant strengthens the production capabilities of the electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler manufacturer as it continues its rapid growth year-on-year and reinforces its commitment to meet the growing demand for electric mobility solutions in the region.
Strategically located at Trichy Road, Nagiyan Thottam, Lakshmi Nagar Kannampalayam, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the new facility is spread over approximately 39,000 square feet and will support electric scooter assembly, warehousing, logistics and associated business operations. Commencing operations today, the Coimbatore facility will primarily cater to the southern markets including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and South Maharashtra.
The Coimbatore facility has an installed production and assembly capacity of 60,000 units per annum. During the initial phase of operations, the plant is expected to manufacture and assemble approximately 24,000-30,000 electric two-wheelers annually, with production gradually increasing in line with market demand and operational ramp-up.
Over the next 12-24 months, the Coimbatore facility is expected to accelerate Zelio e-Mobility’s growth in the southern markets by strengthening dealer reach, enhancing after-sales service and improving supply chain efficiency. The plant is also expected to contribute meaningfully to the company’s revenue, profitability and market share in the region.
The Coimbatore facility currently employs 30 direct employees and will play a key role in Zelio e-Mobility’s previously announced plan to cross 500 employees in the current financial year while contributing by adding over 100 personnel in the coming months. Set up with a capital investment of up to Rs 1 crore, the plant will manufacture and assemble electric two-wheeler models from Zelio e-Mobility’s product portfolio, with upcoming model details to be announced later.

Zelio e-Mobility’s manufacturing network already includes its Ladwa plant in Haryana, spread over 2,63,450 sq. ft; Patan plant in Haryana, spread over 2,52,301 square feet; and the Cuttack plant in Odisha, spread over approximately 30,500 square feet, supporting all production, assembly and field operations.
Before the commissioning of the Coimbatore facility, Zelio e-Mobility had a total installed manufacturing capacity of 1,80,000 units per annum. With the addition of 60,000 units from the Coimbatore plant, the company’s total installed manufacturing capacity has now increased to 2,40,000 units per annum, representing 33% expansion.
The Coimbatore facility follows the same manufacturing standards, processes and quality protocols as Zelio e-Mobility’s existing plants. Currently, the company is focused on achieving steady-state production, while future technology upgrades and sustainability initiatives will be announced in due course.
This expansion is driven by the strong growth momentum of Zelio e-Mobility with its revenue growing by 81.8% year-on-year to ₹313.68 crore in FY 2025-26 and a revenue CAGR of 121% over the last four years, while remaining profitable since inception. Following its successful BSE SME listing in October 2025, where it raised ₹78.34 crore, the company continues to strengthen its market presence through expansion of manufacturing capabilities, growing workforce and 400+ dealer network across 25+ states, with plans to reach 550+ dealerships by FY27.
