ThunderPlus has launched India’s first EV fast charging franchise program designed for women entrepreneurs, especially with the opening of the opening station in Hyderabad on International Women’s Day. The objective of this initiative is to empower women by providing a structured entry in the electric vehicle charging industry.
The franchise package requires an investment of ₹ 6 lakhs and includes 30kw DC fast charger for four-wheelers, which is fulfilled with installation, shed construction and operational support. Thunderplus provides free maintenance for three years, a minimum business guarantee and 50% buyback option at the end of the initial period. The franchise needs to provide only the required location and electricity connection.
With an estimated revenue of around ₹ 12 lakhs in three years, the program presents an attractive opportunity for women to establish themselves in the growing EV region.
The first franchise was awarded the MBA graduate Tarini Pandey, who opted for entrepreneurship on a traditional corporate career. The charging station was inaugurated by Indcon CEO Amrita Ponam, a leader in supporting women groups in Telangana.
At the launch event, Thunderplus CEO Rajiv YSR said, “Women are the major drivers of change, and their participation in the EV region is actually essential for the durable future.” “With this initiative, we aim to break the obstacles of the industry and create a viable, high-development opportunity for women.”
The program aligns with extensive government initiative to increase women’s economic participation. According to recent industry reports, India’s EV charging infrastructure market is expected to increase significantly as adoption of electric vehicles increases nationwide, leading to new trade opportunities in the ecosystem.
The franchise model addresses two growing trends in India: EV infrastructure expansion and entrepreneurship undertakings push more to women, especially in technology and stability fields.
