The vampires unveils PV5 Wav in the future of the Kia Car Summit

Published:

Kia Corporation has unveiled the PV5 Wav (wheelchair accessible vehicle) in the future of the Financial Times of the Car Summit in London in partnership with the UK-based obesity operations limited.

This launch reflects the dedication of Kia to increase dynamics for persons with disabilities and strengthens his role as a leader in permanent mobility solutions.

“PV5 WAV is more than a vehicle – it is the way of freedom for people with challenges of mobility,” said Sangdae Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia’s PBV division. “Advanced platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) mixed with inclusive design, and through our partnership with motility operations, we are shaping a future where permanent mobility is accessible to all.”

Cutting to Kia’s accessible electrical mobility
Kia is developing a competitive electric wheelchair accessible vehicle (EWAV) as part of its developed PBV (stage beeond vehicle) lineup, which addresses the increasing global demand of accessible transportation operated by aging population and policy innings. Traditional snow-based WAVs are being phased, Evavs are becoming increasingly important.

Starting with its “Green Trip” initiative in South Korea in 2012, Kia has a long commitment to inclusive dynamics. In 2021, the company expanded globally with a dynamics project in Los Angeles, offering car-hailing services for individuals with special mobility needs.

The Kia Pv5 Wav is designed thoughtfully to increase dynamics for wheelchair users, their families and carers, offering safe, convenient and comfortable electric travel. Major features include a side-edge system for curbuside access, 300 kg-rested wheelchair ramp, third-row tip-up seat for care assistance and a safe wheelchair belt system.

Constant manufactured at Kia’s Hasong Evo plant in Korea, the vehicle also integrates accessibility-focused applications through the AAOS Open software platform, making it a comprehensive solution for inclusive dynamics.

Kia expands the global access of PBV WAV through motility partnership
At the Kia EV Day in February 2025, Kia announced his cooperation with the Motability Operations, UK’s largest vehicle leasing company and a prominent player in the Motability Scheme, providing accessible vehicles to qualified disabled persons. The partnership supports the vision of distributing KIA’s customer-focused EWAV and confirms its role as a permanent mobility solution provider. KIA plans to expand the offer of PBV Wav in additional global markets.
