Tesla has started deliveries of the new model YL in India, expanding its local portfolio with a three-row, six-seater version of its popular electric SUV. Positioned as a family-oriented premium EV, the Model YL is designed to offer more interior space, practicality and versatility while retaining Tesla’s hallmark performance and technology.
The model YL is priced at ₹61.99 lakh and offers seating for up to six people. Equipped with Tesla’s advanced electric powertrain, the SUV offers a WLTP-certified driving range of up to 600 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. The vehicle also offers cargo capacity of up to 2,539 litres, making it one of the most spacious electric SUVs available in the segment.
To make ownership more accessible, Tesla is offering financing options with monthly payments starting at ₹49,990, with a minimum down payment of ₹6.5 lakh. The company says the program is designed to reduce the initial ownership cost while providing flexible repayment options for customers.
Tesla expands Model Y line-up in India
Along with the launch of the six-seat model YL, Tesla recently introduced the 2026 Model Y premium rear-wheel drive in India. The new version of the globally best-selling Model Y offers seating for five passengers and up to 2,138 liters of storage space.
The Model Y Premium rear-wheel drive offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 500 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. The electric SUV is priced at ₹50.89 lakh, with customer deliveries scheduled to begin in July 2026.
Tesla is also offering attractive financing options for the Model Y premium rear-wheel drive, with EMIs starting at ₹39,990 and a down payment requirement of ₹6 lakh.
Security and technology at the forefront
Both Model YL and Model Y Premium rear-wheel drive have received top safety ratings from leading global safety rating agencies, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in the United States, Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China.
Tesla says the vehicles combine advanced safety systems, efficient electric powertrains, strong performance and cutting-edge technology to provide a comprehensive ownership experience.
Expansion of service network in India
The company highlighted that Tesla vehicles require minimal maintenance due to their electric architecture and software-driven design. Many issues can be addressed remotely through over-the-air (OTA) software updates and remote diagnostics.
Tesla currently operates service centers and body shops in Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi and Pune, and plans to further expand its aftersales network with new facilities in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad during the current quarter.
