Switch Mobility deposes 100 electric vehicles for Indore waste management fleet

Switch mobility has handed over 100 electric vehicles to the Indore Municipal Corporation to support the city’s waste management efforts. The switch IEV3, the purpose-manufactured, traditional diesel-operated vehicles for efficient collections and transportation of wet and dried waste will replace, which will help reduce low carbon emissions and noise pollution.

The handover ceremony was attended by Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargia and Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava.

Each vehicle switch ion is equipped with the company’s advanced connected vehicle platform, which provides real -time tracking, future -staging maintenance, and more smart, adapted routing for more efficient operations.

Indore has continued its stability efforts by adopting electric vehicles for waste management, strengthening its position as India’s cleanest city. Switch Mobility, a joint venture between Ashok Leyland and Optare, has deployed more than 1,250 electric buses globally and launched its IEV series in 2024, using more than 1,000 electric light commercial vehicles. Recognized with several industry awards, the company supports the growing global change towards electric vehicles in municipal services, as the cities want to cut emissions from traditionally diesel-powered operations.
