Let us tell you that the company delivered 9,075 cars between January and June 2026, which is 17 percent more than the same period last year. It is being said that the increasing demand is mainly due to the popularity of Long Wheelbase (LWB) models and Electric Vehicles (EV). The company sold 4,568 cars in the first quarter and 4,507 cars in the second quarter. This is believed to be BMW Group’s most successful first six months in India so far.

Huge demand for long wheelbase and SUV models

For information, BMW Group has said that out of the total 9,075 cars sold between January and June, 4,428 units i.e. about 49 percent were of Long Wheelbase models. The SUV segment has proven to be the biggest growth driver for the company. Along with this, 5,926 SUVs of BMW and MINI brands were sold in the first half, which is 65 percent of the total sales. If we look at it compared to last year, there has been an increase of 35 percent in SUV sales. In view of this, it is also being said that the increasing popularity of LWB models with more space, comfort and premium features among Indian customers is strengthening this trend.

Electric cars also showed strong speed

Along with this, in recent times, electric vehicles are also rapidly becoming the new basis of growth for BMW Group. It is seen that the company sold 2,359 electric cars in six months, which is 26 percent of the total sales.
