Raptee.HV launches T 30, India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle compatible with car charging stations.

Published:

Chennai-based EV startup Raptee.HV launched India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle, developed with the technology being used in electric cars around the world. This enables the motorcycle to compete with 250-300 cc ICE counterparts with significantly less heat.

With this high-voltage (HV) technology, Raptee.HV motorcycles will be the first motorcycles to adopt the universal charging standards used by electric cars in India. The motorcycle comes with an onboard charger, making it compatible with the 13,500 CCS2 car charging stations available across the country, which is expected to double within the next year.

The motorcycle is priced competitively at ₹2.39 lakh, at par with 250-300 cc ICE motorcycles, making the total cost of ownership a complete win from the very first moment of purchasing it, apart from the eco-friendly aspects.

The IDC Est range of the Raptee.HV motorcycle is around 200 km and the real-world range is over 150 km on a single charge, accelerating from 0 to 60 kmph in less than 3.5 seconds. Raptee.HV has also ensured the highest standards of quality and safety by offering IP67 rated battery packs adhering to all regulatory requirements. Raptee.HV is offering battery warranty comparable to electric cars – up to 8 years or 80000 kms, providing customers peace of mind and long-term value.

These motorcycles will have advanced software features for a better riding experience. Raptee.HV’s in-house developed electronics to power the HV technology, and its custom-built operating system based on the automotive-grade Linux platform, provide a highly responsive and intuitive user experience. Raptee.HV motorcycles will come in four dynamic colors – Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey, and Eclipse Black.

Starting deliveries in Chennai and Bengaluru from January, Raptee.HV plans to expand to other major cities based on the trend of mid-premium motorcycles and adoption of electric mobility in these selected markets. Raptee.HV is coming up with a factory-integrated experience centre, “Tech Store.HV”, at its Chennai headquarters that will provide a full immersive experience, including a factory tour, to show how the motorcycles are being made. To ensure a seamless customer experience, Raptee.HV will have a wide range direct to consumer Offering additions to the traditional brick and mortar model.

Dinesh Arjun, co-founder and CEO, Raptee.HV, said, “Our goal was never to create an electric version of an ICE motorcycle, but to do justice to the motorcycle with truly cutting-edge technology. We’ve taken the core foundation of advanced electric car technology and engineered it for motorcycles. Launching India’s first high-voltage electric motorcycle was a technical challenge from the very beginning. Over the last 5 years, the amazing team at Rapti had to reinvent the entire architecture to make HV on 2wheelers possible. That we have succeeded is a testament to what can be achieved with the right vision and focus on innovation.

We believe our HV technology is the missing piece of the puzzle that will accelerate the electrification of motorcycles and revolutionize the future of motorcycle manufacturing.

Jaipradeep Vasudevan, CBO, Rapti.hv, said, “We are extremely excited to see the passion and innovation come to life as we launch our first motorcycle, which is setting new benchmarks in the electric two-wheeler industry. The Indian motorcycle market is twice the size of the scooter market, and the low penetration of EVs in this large segment presents a huge opportunity for us to explore, starting with our flagship model, the T30. As a team, we are fully committed to building the Raptee.HV brand by providing a customer experience that matches the high standards of our motorcycles. In today’s context, automobiles, especially electric vehicles, like consumer durable products, are becoming increasingly electronics and software-driven. With this in mind, we are inspired by premium consumer durable brands in shaping our approach towards customer service.

We plan to introduce a wide range of digital and direct-to-consumer offerings to ensure that our customers enjoy a seamless ownership journey with Raptee.HV. Our network expansion will be rolled out in phases, starting with company-owned experience centers in Chennai and Bangalore. Learning from these initial markets, we will strategically expand into other regions and international markets at the right time over the next few years. We have a clear strategic roadmap for the next five years and aim to become a significant player in the EV industry in the coming years.

Raptee.HV has closed its Pre-Series A round of fundraising led by Bluehill Capital and Earth99 Ventures, and is raising its Series A round from new and existing investors to support its production ramp-up, dealership expansion. In the final stages of closure. And the introduction of e-bikes in other states is fueling its growth in the electric mobility market.
