Mumbai welcomes 12-meter electric buses under Best-PMI partnership

In an important step towards green mobility, the PMI in collaboration with the Electro Mobility-Mumbadevi Mobility, Bhanambia Electric Supply and Transport (Best), has introduced the first batch of electric buses for the city of Mumbai.

At an official ceremony held in the best office, Colaba Depot, 4 completely electric, 12-meter buses were closed today in the presence of Mr. Ashish Sharma, IAS, General Manager, Best, who saw the occasion as the chief guest.

This purinogen marks the onset of an ambitious plan to introduce 250 electric buses in Mumbai, which further strengthens the city’s public transport system, while its carbon footprints. Buses will be operated from the Osiawada depot, strategically selected to serve high-deserving routes and increase passenger facilities.

New 12-meter buses, Designed and manufactured by PMI Electro Mobility, mix passenger comfort with stability. Each bus has a seating area for the plus driver of 36 passengers, which has a provision for wheelchair access and three foldable seats to maximize flexibility. The design of a low floor (400 mm) enables easy boarding, especially for senior citizens and different passengers. Equipped with 366.66 kwh LFP battery, buses offer a range of up to 250 km at single charge, making them ideal for Mumbai’s daily urban routes. The PMSM motor system ensures smooth and efficient operation, while onboard accessibility features provide a safe and comfortable travel experience.
