LifiBus, a New Delhi-based electric bus operator, has teamed up with AMU to launch its inaugural fleet of 10 electric buses for intercity travel. This initiative aims to accelerate India’s transition towards green mobility, with funding provided by AMU. The buses will initially run on high-traffic routes including the Delhi-Dehradun corridor.
Rohan Diwan, Founder and CEO, LiFeBeBus, said, “At LiFeBeBus, we strive to make electric travel the norm across India. Our partnership with AMU brings us closer to this goal by facilitating eco-friendly travel between cities. “Together, we can provide cleaner and more efficient transportation options for everyone.”
This collaboration underlines India’s growing emphasis on sustainable transportation solutions, especially in the electric vehicle sector. By focusing on high-demand routes, LiFeBus and AMU aim to reduce the carbon footprint associated with long-distance travel while providing a cost-effective transportation option for passengers.
Nehal Gupta, Founder and Managing Director, Accelerated Money for You, expressed his excitement for the project: “We are excited to support the procurement of the first batch of 10 electric buses for intercity operations by LifiBus. By empowering LiFebus to expand its fleet, we are enabling cleaner and more efficient transport, having a positive impact on both the environment and the future of mobility. Together, we are creating a more sustainable and eco-friendly transportation ecosystem.
LifiBus’ electric buses prioritize passenger safety and comfort. Each bus is equipped with CCTV surveillance, real-time tracking and a dedicated “Bus Buddy” to assist passengers. To ensure top safety standards, the buses are equipped with Driver Monitoring System (DMS) and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), while the interiors are designed to provide a clean and comfortable travel experience.
In addition to this initial rollout, LifiBus has partnered with JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd to purchase a total of 200 electric buses, with plans to introduce 50 of these within the first year.
