Marking the World Environment Day, JSW MG Motor India has achieved a significant milestone by installing 1,000 community EV chargers under its MG Charge initiative at over 470 locations across the country. With this achievement, the company has become the first automobile manufacturer in India to set up EV community charging infrastructure on such a large scale.
The charging network has been deployed at various locations including residential societies, apartment complexes, hospitals, educational campuses, hotels and industrial parks, increasing accessibility and convenience for electric vehicle users.
This milestone reflects JSW MG Motor India’s commitment to strengthening India’s EV ecosystem and supporting the broader shift towards sustainable mobility by expanding charging infrastructure beyond traditional public charging points.
Additionally, the company reported that its EVs have cumulatively covered 290 crore green kilometers on Indian roads, equivalent to savings of 4.17 lakh metric tonnes of CO₂. The carmaker further said that it is preparing for an aggressive product attack for CY2026, with the launch of three new NEVs including the introduction of plug-in hybrid technology. JSW MG Motor India sees India’s sustainability journey as one that can be driven by multiple technologies.
In line with the vision of the Government of India, JSW MG Motor India uses more than 78% renewable energy at its Halol manufacturing plant, resulting in carbon emissions savings of over 9,300 metric tonnes. The plant meets approximately 95% of its total power requirements from renewable energy sources. Water consumption at the Halol facility has been reduced by 23% through process optimization and reuse of recycled water. JSW MG Motor India has also adopted Industry 4.0 solutions, with digitalization and IoT playing a key role in decarbonizing operations and enhancing energy efficiency.

Zero external discharge plant which uses 100% treated water, clean fuel (PNG) in all processes. Green coverage with plantation of over 11000 trees, certified with zero waste to landfill – Golden Maturity, equipped with bio compost machine for canteen, garden waste biogas plant for bio waste, Miyawaki Forest – 5700 saplings. 21 recharge wells
