Jetour T2 India Launch: A new plug-in hybrid SUV is set to launch in the Indian auto market this Diwali. Let us tell you that Jetour T2 will be launched in India in partnership with JSW Motors and Chinese automobile company Chery. This will be the company’s first model in the Indian market and its biggest feature is the claimed driving range of over 1,000 km. This has come at a time when customers want the benefits of both electric and petrol technologies. In such a situation, Jetour T2 can become a new option for them.
Launch around Diwali 2026
It has been seen in reports that Jetour T2 can be launched in the Indian market around Diwali 2026. Its assembly will be done at the new plant of JSW Motors located in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Initially, it is likely to be introduced with a 5-seater configuration. Due to which local assembly in India can also help in keeping its price competitive in future.
Power and performance will be the biggest strength
Talking about the features of Jetou 2, it will have a combination of 1.5-liter turbo GDi petrol engine, two electric motors and 26.7kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery. This plug-in hybrid system will together produce 381bhp power and 610Nm torque. Regarding this, the company claims that this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7 seconds while its top speed will be 197 km/h. Such figures also make it attractive for performance-minded customers.

Along with this, the biggest feature of Jetour T2 is its long driving range. The company says that this SUV can run up to 139 kilometers only on battery power. With petrol engine and electric motor, its total driving range can be more than 1,000 kilometers. This means that there will be much less need for frequent charging or refueling during long journeys. Not only this, it will support both AC and DC fast charging for charging. The AC charger will charge the battery from 30% to 100% in less than four hours, while the DC fast charger will take just 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.

Which SUVs will be challenged?
The expected ex-showroom price of Jetour T2 could be between Rs 35 lakh to Rs 45 lakh. In this price range, it is expected to compete with premium SUVs like Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and Volkswagen Tayron. On the basis of plug-in hybrid technology and long range, it can become a different and attractive option for Indian customers.
