Hyundai redefines e-mobility with IONIQ 9 electric SUV: spacious and innovatively advanced |

Hyundai Motor Company has revealed IONIQ 9, a fully electric SUV With three rows of seating, it offers spacious interior space combining state-of-the-art design and advanced electric vehicle (EV) technology.

IONIQ 9 was introduced at the iconic Goldstein House in Los Angeles, a renowned example of mid-century modern architecture. The location was chosen to reflect Hyundai’s vision of establishing the IONIQ lineup as a symbol of innovation and progress in the EV market. The event highlights the company’s commitment towards electrification and its target to launch 23 EV models by 2030. Following the success of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, both of which won World Car of the Year awards in 2022 and 2023, the IONIQ 9 continues this legacy. Excellence in electric mobility.

Jose Munoz, President and Global Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai Motor Company, delivered the keynote address at the world premiere event. Following the unveiling of the IONIQ 9, the event included an exhibition exploring the car’s design and features as well as showcasing its development journey.

The IONIQ 9 is an ideal choice for those looking for a spacious three-row EV with capacity for up to seven passengers. It blends impressive space with amenities tailored to meet individual needs, fostering a sense of both privacy and connection. Designed to cater to the hyper-connected customers who also value comfort and relaxation, the IONIQ 9 truly embodies the concept of “Built to Belong”.

IONIQ 9 offers superior space with ample space in the second and third row, providing an exceptional experience for the occupants. Its interior design incorporates elliptical elements and serene tones to create a lounge-like ambiance. It offers a serene and natural feel, especially when immersed in natural light from the panoramic sunroof.

The flat floor of the IONIQ 9 has seating for six or seven people. Relaxation seats in the first and second rows can fully recline and extend the leg rests for maximum comfort, allowing up to four people to relax while the vehicle is charging, depending on configuration. The IONIQ 9 has 1,899 mm of headroom and 2,050 mm of legroom when the second and third rows are combined.

The relaxation seats of IONIQ 9 feature Hyundai Motor’s first Dynamic Body Care System, which also includes Dynamic Touch Massage function. This system uses pressure and vibration to stimulate blood flow and circulation, reducing fatigue on long drives.

The IONIQ 9 also features rotating second-row seats, allowing second- and third-row occupants to face each other when the vehicle is stationary. This flexible configuration feature enhances interaction and communication between passengers, adding another way to enjoy the unique space of the vehicle.

The SUV’s Slideable Universal Island 2.0 console provides an impressive level of storage and a walk-through front-row seating arrangement, enhancing accessibility and convenience. The bidirectional armrest can be opened from the front and rear allowing easy access to the console from the second row.

The Universal Island 2.0 can be raised by 190 mm, allowing second row passengers easy access. The console also offers 5.6 liters of storage in the upper tray, as well as 12.6 liters of storage in the lower sliding tray.

With the third row seats folded flat, the trunk can hold up to 1,323 liters of luggage space, while with all three rows in place the IONIQ 9 offers up to 620 liters of luggage space8. Additionally, the front trunk offers a maximum volume of 88 liters for RWD models and 52 liters for AWD models.

IONIQ 9 also emphasizes sustainability in its material choices. These include eco process leather, recycled PET fabric, wool fabric, bio TPO/PU skin, bio PET/SUEDE fabric and bio paint. The vehicle also uses paint made from recycled tire waste.

IONIQ 9’s panoramic curved display, floating dashboard, slim air vents and ambient interior lighting further enhance the vehicle’s futuristic interior environment.
