Evore Electric has officially entered India’s electric motorcycle market with the launch of its first model, the EX, in Ahmedabad. Priced at ₹1,24,999 (ex-showroom), the motorcycle is available in three variants – EX 2S, EX 2, and EX 1. Bookings have started at ₹799, while showroom availability is slated for next month, with customer deliveries expected to begin two months later.

The EX lineup offers an IDC-certified riding range of 260 km for the EX 2S, 255 km for the EX 2 and 160 km for the EX 1. The flagship EX 2S offers a top speed of 114 km/h, while the EX 2 and EX 1 offer a top speed of 100 km/h. Power comes from a rare-earth-free permanent magnet synchronous motor, producing between 7.5 kW and 10.5 kW depending on the variant, while all three models offer 250 Nm of peak wheel torque.

Each motorcycle is equipped with a 1,500W onboard charger that supports charging through standard 5A and 15A household sockets. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in about two hours, while it takes about four hours to fully charge. The battery pack has been homologated by NATRAX, while its battery management system has been validated by ICAT. Evore is offering a warranty of five years or 60,000 km on the battery and battery management system, although the vehicle warranty has not been announced yet.

Positioned competitively in the market, the EX undercuts electric rivals like the Revolt RV400 BRZ and the Oberon Roar EZ by almost ₹5,000. According to Priyank Rakholia, founder of Evore Electric, this motorcycle is aimed at riders who want to upgrade from a 125 cc to a 200 cc petrol-powered commuter motorcycle.

The EX also competes with petrol motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar N160 and TVS Apache RTR 160 4V. In states like Maharashtra, where electric two-wheelers are exempted from road tax while comparable petrol motorcycles attract 11% road tax, on-road pricing becomes even more attractive for EV buyers.

Evore Electric says it has spent the last three years developing the eX, engineering nine critical vehicle systems in-house, including the battery management system, motor, controller, charger and operating system. The company has also filed over 120 intellectual property applications highlighting its focus on indigenous technology development. While the battery cells are sourced internationally and the motor assembly is managed by an Indian manufacturing partner, the product has been developed without external funding.

Explaining the company’s approach, Rakholia said Awor deliberately avoided raising external capital during the early stage to allow adequate time for product development and validation. Although the motorcycle was ready for production almost nine months ago, the company used the extra time to conduct extensive testing before the launch.

To support its entry into the market, Avor has set up 15 dealerships in Gujarat and Maharashtra, while another 65 dealership applications are currently under evaluation. There are plans to expand into southern India and Delhi within the next three months. Each dealership will include an authorized service workshop staffed by technicians trained directly by Evore’s in-house engineering team.

Manufacturing takes place at Avor’s 150,000 sq ft facility in Chhatral, Gujarat, which has an installed production capacity of 15,000 electric two-wheelers per month. The company says that instead of immediately chasing high sales volumes, its initial focus will be on ensuring product quality, customer satisfaction and a strong after-sales service network.

The eX is the first product from Samarth e-Mobility, the company behind the Avor brand. Founder Priyank Rakholia, who previously spent over a decade leading his family’s specialty chemicals business, believes that the same emphasis on precision, consistency and quality that has led to success in manufacturing will underpin Evore’s long-term ambitions in India’s fast-growing electric mobility sector.
