Driven, an electric vehicle (EV) leasing platform focused on heavy commercial fleets, has entered into a strategic partnership with BillionE Mobility, an e-mobility-as-a-service (EMAaS) provider, to lease and deploy 200 electric trucks across India. This collaboration is an important milestone in accelerating the adoption of electric freight transportation and supporting the country’s transition towards sustainable logistics.
As part of the first phase of the partnership, 22 electric trucks will be deployed to a leading cement industry customer under a long-term contract. The project will establish an electrified freight corridor supported by dedicated EV charging infrastructure and integrated operational solutions, demonstrating the commercial feasibility of zero-emission heavy-duty logistics.
Compared to conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) trucks, this deployment is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 4,500 tonnes annually, highlighting the potential of electric freight solutions to reduce emissions from heavy commercial transportation.
Alpana Jain, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer, Driven, said, “Electric trucks scale only when the right ecosystem is in place. Reliable charging infrastructure, alignment between partners, and disciplined on-ground execution are critical to making large-scale deployment successful. Through our partnership with BillionE Mobility, we are focused on ensuring high vehicle uptime, operational sustainability, and efficiency in every journey. This deployment demonstrates that EV freight transportation “It’s not just about replacing diesel trucks, but about building a logistics model that delivers both environmental and operational benefits.”
“At BillionE Mobility, we are not just imagining the future of mobility – we are building it. Electrification of India’s freight sector is a collaborative effort. By partnering with Driven, we are combining technology, operations and financing to overcome key barriers to EV adoption. Together, we are helping customers transition to cleaner, more efficient logistics,” said Karthikeya Hariyani, Founder of BillionE Mobility and Sanjeev Kulkarni, CEO, BillionE Mobility. Looking forward.”
This partnership represents a significant step in shaping the future of freight mobility in India, where electric trucks operate at scale with the support of integrated infrastructure and coordinated operations. In the coming phases, Driven and BillionE Mobility will continue to expand electric truck deployment under the partnership, strengthening their shared commitment to advance electric freight mobility in India. Through these deployments, the partners aim to accelerate the adoption of electric freight solutions and support more efficient long-haul transportation.
