Delhi EV Policy 2026: Delhi government is working rapidly towards promoting electric vehicles in the capital. Now this initiative has also got the support of Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), an organization of auto dealers. The organization believes that it will not be easy to move from petrol and diesel vehicles to completely electric mobility. In such a situation, vehicle companies, dealers and customers may have to face many challenges in the initial phase, but in the long run this change will prove beneficial for both the environment and the auto industry.
Not just selling EV, strong charging network is also important
FADA President C.S. Vigneshwar says that the future of electric vehicles is not far and the entire auto sector will have to be prepared for it. In such a situation, merely launching new electric vehicles will not be enough. If charging stations, service centers and technical infrastructure are not strengthened, the pace of EV adoption may be affected.
The organization also said that servicing of electric vehicles is different from traditional petrol-diesel vehicles. In such a situation, there will be a need to train the technicians working at the dealership on new technology, provide modern equipment and make customers aware about EV.

Whereas in June 2026, the share of EV in total vehicle sales was more than 10 percent while the demand for electric scooters and bikes is seen growing the fastest. Keeping this changing market in mind, FADA has decided to prepare its dealers through technical training, charging infrastructure and customer awareness programs.
