Let us tell you that MG Motor India has increased the prices of its best selling electric car Windsor EV. It is seen that from July 2026, the company has made all its variants expensive. According to different models, customers will now have to pay Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000 more. The company has said that this decision has been taken due to the rising prices of raw materials and increase in production costs. In recent times, many auto companies like Kia and Toyota have also increased the prices of their vehicles.
Biggest shock on base model
It is seen that according to the new prices, MG Windsor EV Excite variant has become the most expensive. In which earlier its ex-showroom price was Rs 14.10 lakh, which has now increased to Rs 14.70 lakh. Which simply means that customers will have to spend Rs 60,000 more on this variant. Along with this, the price of Exclusive and Essence variants has seen an increase of Rs 46,900. After which now their new prices have become Rs 16 lakh and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The price of Pro variant also increased
If you are one of those people who want to buy a long range Pro model, then you will have to keep more money ready for that too. In which Exclusive Pro has now become costlier by Rs 52,000 to Rs 17.90 lakh. Whereas after the price of top model Essence Pro has increased by Rs 40,000, the ex-showroom price has become ₹ 19 lakh. In view of this, overall an increase of 2.15% to 4.26% has been recorded in the prices of Windsor EV.

No change in range
For information, let us tell you that despite the increase in price, the features and battery options of the car remain the same as before. In which the company sells it with 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh battery packs. While the models with smaller battery pack claim to give a range of up to 332 kilometers, the Pro variant can run up to 449 kilometers once fully charged. All variants get 136 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Along with this, MG Windsor EV currently remains the most successful electric car of the company. More than 75,000 units have been sold within two years of its launch. This is the reason why despite the increased prices, it continues to have a strong hold in the Indian EV market.
