Blue Energy Motors (BEM), a leader in green commercial mobility, has launched its electric heavy-duty truck with advanced battery swapping technology. The vehicle was unveiled by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis at BEM’s state-of-the-art 10,000-unit manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune.
The CM also inaugurated India’s first electric freight corridor between Mumbai and Pune, a major step towards electrifying national highways within the next three years. The initiative supports India’s net zero ambitions by promoting a cleaner, more efficient freight ecosystem.
In response to the growing demand, BEM has signed an MoU with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a new facility with a 30,000 truck annual capacity backed by an investment of ₹3,500 crore.
BEM has seen strong demand in the market and is signing MoUs for more than 10,000 electric trucks. The truck’s advanced technology makes BEM electric trucks the lowest TCO in the industry.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis says: “This launch demonstrates Maharashtra’s leadership in sustainable innovation. Blue Energy Motors’ Made-in-India electric truck with battery swapping technology, along the Mumbai-Pune corridor, India’s first electric highway, seamlessly aligns with the country’s vision for a self-reliant India and a green, self-reliant future. I look forward to supporting them in moving forward.” Appreciate the efforts towards both environmental sustainability and industrial development”.
