BS-IV Vehicle Replacement: The government has taken a big decision to control the increasing air pollution in Delhi. Let us inform that the Delhi Government led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has approved the implementation of the transformation plan of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of the Central Government. Along with this, the objective of this scheme is to promote BS-VI and electric vehicles in their place by removing old and more polluting commercial vehicles running on the roads. The government believes that this will clean the air of the capital and the transport system will become more modern and environment-friendly than before.
More than 2 lakh vehicle owners will get direct benefits
Regarding this new policy, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta says that about 2.07 lakh truck and bus owners of Delhi-NCR will get the benefit of this scheme. Reducing the number of old commercial vehicles will reduce pollution and promote electric mobility. This step is considered important towards strengthening the clean transport policy in Delhi.
You will get many big benefits by buying a new electric vehicle
Along with this, if a vehicle owner has a BS-IV or older Light Goods Vehicle (LGV) and replaces it and buys a new electric LGV, the government will provide many attractive facilities. This includes 100% exemption in motor vehicle tax for 10 years, complete waiver of registration fees, 5% interest subsidy, up to 8% rebate from the vehicle manufacturer (OEM) and one-time financial benefit equivalent to fuel voucher. At the same time, if someone buys an old electric commercial vehicle instead of buying a new vehicle, he will still get financial assistance equivalent to 50% tax exemption, 5% interest subsidy and fuel voucher for 10 years.

Relief for trucks and bus operators also
Information has come to light that this scheme is not limited to only small cargo vehicles. Medium Goods Vehicle (MGV) and Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) owners will also be able to avail all the same benefits by purchasing a new BS-VI or electric truck in place of old BS-IV trucks. The government has also included old buses in this scheme. BS-IV or older buses can now be replaced only with BS-VI CNG or electric buses. The special thing is that it will not be necessary to scrap old vehicles in every situation.
They can be sold outside NCR in cities which are not included in the National Clean Air Program (NCAP). Apart from this, vehicles which have outstanding road tax or fitness penalty for more than one year will also get relief under this scheme. This scheme is being considered a big step of the Delhi government towards pollution control as well as promoting clean transportation and electric vehicles.
