In collaboration with Delhi Traffic Police, India’s largest battery-swapping network Battery Smart started a road safety and traffic rule awareness program for e-rickshaw drivers in Delhi. More than 100 drivers were educated on responsible driving, traffic rules, safe battery handling and monsoon-specific safety measures, which strengthens safe electrical mobility practices.
The event was organized by Mr. Ajay Kumar, Executive Magistrate (South West Delhi), in which Mr. Laxmi Singhal, IAS, District Magistrate was represented along with senior officials of Delhi Traffic Police and Battery Smart.
Speaking at the event, Chief Guest, Executive Magistrate of South West Delhi, Mr. Ajay Kumar said, “Creating safe roads begins with awareness and responsible driving behavior among all road users. Such initiatives are important in translating such awareness. Safe driving habits and active steps towards strengthening traffic discipline.
Commenting on the initiative, Captain Hai Memendra Sharma, VP, Special Operations, Battery Smart said, “E-R There is a step towards the construction of the ecosystem.
The interactive session included training on hand under the leadership of the trainers of Delhi Traffic Police and Battery Smart’s on-ground teams. It covers the daily challenges of e-rickshaw drivers-all-life studies, responsible driving, battery handling fundamentals, power safety and safe parking practices. The event also had a felicitation and certificate ceremony, recognizing drivers who demonstrated exemplary commitment for road safety.
In the battery smart, driver and station partner safety is a top priority. All drivers undergo a compulsory safety training module during onboarding, complementing by campaigns and educational outreach throughout the year.
Recently celebrating its 5-year milestone, the battery smart now operates 1,500+ swap stations, serves 70,000+ drivers, and 50+ cities across India have a strong presence-include their missions to make power dynamics cheap and accessible for all.
