Greaves Electric Mobility’s electric two-wheeler brand Ampere has achieved a significant milestone by crossing 4 lakh electric scooters manufactured and sold in India. This achievement highlights the brand’s growing footprint in the country’s massive electric mobility segment and reflects its journey from an early entrant in the EV space to becoming a reliable and rapidly expanding player in the market.

This milestone underlines Ampere’s commitment to making electric mobility more accessible and affordable for Indian consumers through a portfolio of practical and value-driven products. Over the years, the brand has continuously strengthened its presence by catering to the growing mobility needs of urban and semi-urban customers.

Ampere attributes its growth to its customer-centric approach focused on developing smart, sustainable and safe electric vehicles tailored to Indian operating conditions. Its scooters are engineered to perform reliably across a variety of road conditions, weather patterns and terrains while offering a lower total cost of ownership than conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.

With increasing EV adoption across the country, the company is focusing on providing sustainable mobility solutions that combine affordability, reliability and everyday utility for a wide spectrum of consumers.

Ampere recorded 51% year-on-year growth in FY26, with its market share increasing from 3.6% in FY25 to 4.4% in FY26, cementing its position among the leading players in India’s electric two-wheeler market.

Ampere’s growing adoption is driven by products engineered to overcome key barriers to EV adoption. This milestone reflects the growing confidence and trust in Ampere electric scooters, be it first-time EV buyers, everyday riders, family commuters or business owners seeking a practical solution with low costs. Based on a 100% LFP battery platform, it offers superior safety, thermal stability and a long lifecycle of up to ~200,000 km.

Commenting on this milestone, Vikas Singh, MD, Greaves Electric Mobility, said: “Crossing the 4 lakh mark reflects the growing customer confidence in Ampere and validates our focus on providing reliable, value-driven electric mobility in the sub-Rs 1 lakh segment. As fuel costs rise, customers are increasingly looking for practical alternatives to everyday mobility. Our focus is to make this transition simple and reliable. We believe The next phase of EV growth in India will be driven by practical, mass-market solutions, and our ‘Made for India’ approach delivers solutions that not only meet these expectations but are also designed for demanding conditions, as EV adoption accelerates. We are committed to making electric mobility more accessible and relevant to the mass market. Are.

The Ampere Nexus, awarded “Electric Scooter of the Year 2025,” is hailed as an outperformer – known for its endurance and engineering credentials, validated by recent achievements including climbing the Collie Hill 70 hairpin turn and riding up to Shipkey La Pass at 13,200 feet.

Other award-winning products are: The Magnus Grand recently won the title of ‘Electric Scooter of the Year 2026’, while the Magnus G-Max won the title of ‘Family Scooter of the Year 2026’, strengthening Ampere’s industry credibility and trust. These achievements are making GEML’s products the preferred choice among first-time EV buyers, families and daily commuters, accelerating the shift from ICE to electric mobility on a large scale.

This milestone includes slow-moving vehicles which are not captured in VAHAN data. Supporting this momentum, Ampere expanded its dealer, retail and service network. In FY26, Ampere strengthened its dealer network by 12% compared to FY25. Apart from revamping existing showrooms, network initiatives improved dealer productivity and customer experience. With this, today, the company has a strong retail presence across metros and emerging EV markets. Looking ahead, the company will continue to strengthen its offering with differentiated technology and its 100% LFP portfolio to enhance safety, thermal stability and lifecycle performance and lower TCO for customers. With this design philosophy, Ampere is well positioned to drive mainstream EV adoption across India.
