Yulu launches EV delivery service in Nashik.

Yulu has launched its electric mobility service for delivery partners in Nashik, Maharashtra under its Yulu Business Partner (YBP) vertical. The company has partnered with Approach Auto Mobility for the rollout, which will initially cover Rajiv Nagar before expanding to other parts of the city and surrounding areas based on demand.

The service will start with a fleet of 100 DeX electric two-wheelers, which will operate from the Yulu hub in Rajiv Nagar. Nashik becomes Yulu’s second market in Maharashtra after Mumbai and its ninth franchisee-led operation launched in the last two years.

Nashik is also Yulu’s 13th city of operations, joining the directly operated metropolitan markets of Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad. The company’s other franchisee-led operations include Indore, Bhopal, Kochi, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Coimbatore, Kolkata and Chandigarh Tricity.

This expansion has coincided with the growth of Nashik’s delivery market, driven by instant-commerce platforms, food-delivery services and other on-demand businesses. According to Yulu, there are more than 25 operational dark stores and 1,500 high-volume restaurants in the city. Daily deliveries in Nashik have doubled to about 25,000 in the last year, leading to demand for vehicles used in last-mile delivery operations.

Yulu’s offering is designed to help delivery partners manage vehicle financing, energy and maintenance expenses. The service includes electric two-wheelers, battery-swapping facilities through Yuma Energy and pricing plans that cover energy, maintenance and insurance.

The company claims that its delivery partners using electric vehicles can earn 30-40% more than those using petrol motorcycles. However, Yulu has not disclosed the methodology or cost estimates behind this comparison.

The Nashik rollout is being led by entrepreneur Jai Dhanani with Approach Auto Mobility. The company operates in areas including EV charging solutions, ride-sharing services and battery-swapping franchises, and already has a battery-swapping partnership with Yuma Energy.

Yulu co-founder and CEO Amit Gupta said the company is expanding its franchise-based business model into non-metro markets with the expansion of instant-commerce and on-demand delivery services. The partnership with Approach Auto Mobility aims to aid the adoption of electric two-wheelers among delivery partners and businesses requiring last-mile logistics services.

Jai Dhanani said the collaboration will focus on helping delivery partners reduce operating costs while providing businesses access to electric delivery fleets.

The companies plan to expand the service beyond Rajiv Nagar to Nashik and surrounding areas as demand increases, thereby increasing Yulu’s presence in India’s growing electric mobility and last-mile delivery segment.
