Zelio e-Mobility, an electric two-wheeler and three-wheeler maker, plans to add over 150 new dealerships in South India by FY2027 as it looks to expand its retail network and accelerate EV adoption across the region.
The expansion will focus on five key South Indian markets. The main focus will be on Tamil Nadu, the company aims to have around 40 new dealerships. Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh are expected to see around 30 new dealerships each.
In Telangana, where Zelio currently has around 15 dealerships, the company plans to expand its network to around 30 outlets in the long term.
The planned expansion is part of Zelio e-Mobility’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in key regional markets and make its electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers more accessible to customers across South India.
With an existing network of 400+ dealers across 25+ states, the planned expansion will take Zelio’s overall dealership network to 550+ outlets by FY27. The company sees a broad and strong retail network as a key part of its next phase of growth, especially as EV adoption moves beyond early-adopter markets and increasing reliance on product accessibility, local customer engagement and reliable after-sales support.
Commenting on the expansion, Kunal Arya, Managing Director, Zelio e-Mobility, said, “The next phase of electric mobility will be shaped not only by product innovation, but also by how effectively the industry understands and responds to customers at the local level. South India represents a large and important market for electric mobility, with a growing base of well-informed customers who are becoming increasingly savvy about technology, ownership experience, value and after-sales support. a significant opportunity and a market that demands a more thoughtful approach to customer engagement.”
“We are therefore focused on building strong relationships with our dealer partners and giving them the capabilities, products and support they need to build lasting customer trust. We believe that the companies that stay closest to customers and respond to rising expectations will be best positioned to participate in the deeper adoption of electric mobility going forward.”
The South India expansion follows the inauguration of Zelio’s new manufacturing facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, strengthening the company’s operational capabilities in the region. Spread over approximately 39,000 square feet, the facility will support electric scooter assembly, storage, logistics and associated business operations. The facility is expected to provide greater operational support as Zelio expands its retail footprint in Tamil Nadu and neighboring South Indian markets.
The company’s dealer expansion comes with continued growth in its business operations. Zelio E-Mobility reported revenue of ₹313.68 crore in FY2025-26, a growth of 81.8% year-on-year, while its revenue has registered a CAGR of 121% over the last four years. The company has been profitable since its inception. Following its BSE SME listing in October 2025, through which it raised ₹78.34 crore, Zelio is expanding its manufacturing capacity, dealer network and workforce.
