Skyworth Motors made its debut at the 2026 Hannover IAA TRANSPORTATION with five electric smart commercial vehicles, demonstrating its latest progress in the fields of electrification, autonomous driving and smart commercial travel.
The highlight of the company’s launch is the global premiere of Skyworth Z9, a new L4 autonomous pure electric heavy truck designed for harsh business environments. In addition to the Z9, Skyworth Motors also exhibited the G18 automatic electric garbage compactor, the City Elf self-driving bus, the Hongtu V9 pure electric truck and the Hongtu X extended-range chassis cab, demonstrating a wide range of solutions for different commercial transportation scenarios.
Skyworth Z9 makes its global debut
Skyworth Z9 – L4 autonomous driving smart heavy truck integrates pure electric drive, L4 autonomous driving and intelligent connectivity on one platform.
Designed for applications such as ports, steel mills, rail yards and logistics corridors, the Z9 is equipped with a 400 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and 610 kW dual motor outputs.
In addition to vehicle-level autonomous driving, the Z9 is designed to be part of a vehicle-cloud integrated transportation system. Intelligent dispatch, route optimization and multi-vehicle coordination enable trucks to work as part of a connected autonomous fleet, with a single operator coordinating up to 18 autonomous vehicles.
Z9 also introduces Skyworth Motors’ “across the universe” design concept into its heavy-duty truck series, combining a unique appearance with a driver-oriented digital cockpit.
Five models cover diverse business scenarios
In addition to the Z9, Skyworth Motors also displayed four other models at the 2026 IAA TRANSPORTATION exhibition.
Skyworth G18 is an L4 independent pure electric garbage compactor specially designed for smart city sanitation. The vehicle integrates electric power, autonomous driving and intelligent sanitation operations, and is specially designed for applications such as urban waste collection and transfer.
Skyworth Urban Elf Robobus is an L4 autonomous electric shuttle specially developed for controlled environment and short-distance passenger travel. With its compact size and smart driving features, it is designed for applications such as parks, campuses, airports, scenic spots and communities.
Skyworth Hongtu V9 is a pure electric light commercial vehicle specially designed for urban logistics and last-mile delivery. With a focus on efficiency, practicality and flexible cargo transportation, it expands Skyworth Motors’ electric commercial vehicle offerings for European urban transportation.
Skyworth Red Figure X is an intelligent extended-range chassis cab platform designed to support customized commercial applications, completing the product line. Its platform architecture provides flexibility for different body configurations and operating scenarios.
Expanding smart business mobility
The five vehicles at the IAA showcase Skyworth Automotive’s broader strategy of combining new energy powertrains with smart vehicle technology across multiple commercial applications.
The company’s autonomous driving technology has been developed for 8 years, and its deployment covers logistics, sanitation, passenger transportation and other business scenarios.
Skyworth Automotive, which has delivered more than 150,000 vehicles in more than 45 countries and more than 100 cities around the world, now makes its debut at IAA TRANSPORTATION to strengthen its presence in the European commercial vehicle market and interact with customers, partners and industry professionals.
