Leading Indian automotive and electric mobility company JBM Auto Ltd has strengthened its leadership in the country’s electric bus market by registering the highest number of electric buses with 274 registrations in September 2026 and achieving 33% market share, according to Vahan portal data.
The company also maintained its market leadership during H1FY26-27, registering 892 electric buses between April and September 2026, translating into a market share of around 24%. During the same period, the Indian electric bus market recorded 3,771 registrations.
JBM Auto’s continued leadership follows its strong performance in FY26, when the company recorded the highest number of electric bus registrations in the country. The continued momentum underlines the strength of JBM’s integrated electric mobility ecosystem, execution capabilities and the growing adoption of its electric bus solutions in public and institutional transportation.

JBM Auto operates the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, located in the NCR region, with an annual manufacturing capacity of 20,000 buses. The facility integrates design, engineering, testing, validation and manufacturing capabilities, enabling JBM to develop and deploy electric mobility solutions at scale.
JBM electric buses have so far covered more than 450 million e-kilometres, served more than 2 billion passengers and contributed to the avoidance of more than 1 billion kilograms of CO2 emissions. These milestones reflect the company’s growing contribution to the transition towards zero-emission public transport in India and its vision to enable clean mobility.
