Tesla India today announced the opening of its first Tesla Experience Center in Chennai, located at Express Avenue Mall to provide retail and after-sales services directly to customers. With this launch, customers in Chennai and Tamil Nadu can now experience, order and take delivery of Tesla vehicles locally.
To provide a complete ownership experience, Tesla India has also set up an approved collision center and service facility at Poonamallee. This gives owners in Chennai and Tamil Nadu access to genuine Tesla parts, professionally trained technicians, software-aware diagnostics, and collision repair performed to Tesla standards, reducing downtime and giving you added peace of mind with nationwide service and warranty coverage.
The Experience Center at Pattullos Road and the Collision Center at Poonamallee are designed to provide local consultation, test drives and vehicle delivery support; professional collision repair and body repair to Tesla standards; genuine parts and approved repair procedures; and support to help maintain vehicle safety, performance and resale value.
The new center offers the 2026 Model Y premium rear-wheel drive model, which offers 2,138 liters of storage space, can accommodate up to five passengers, has ample luggage capacity and features power-folding seats. Powered by an ultra-sensitive motor, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds and has a range of up to 500 kilometers (WLTP). It is priced in India at Rs 50,89,000 with a down payment of Rs 6,00,000 and monthly EMI starting at Rs 39,990.
Customers can also experience the Model YL, an all-wheel drive SUV designed as a family vehicle with a three-row, six-seat configuration that maximizes headroom, legroom and comfort. It has a cruising range of up to 681 kilometers (WLTP), accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds, and has a cargo space of up to 2,539 liters. Model YL prices start at Rs 61,99,000 with a down payment of Rs 6,50,000 and monthly EMIs starting at Rs 49,990.
Both vehicles benefit from Tesla’s ever-improving features via over-the-air (OTA) updates, including access to Tesla’s intelligent AI assistant Grok, which is available in multiple Indian languages, including Tamil, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Kannada.
