Luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has launched its first AMG Plug-in Hybrid Performance Sedan in the Indian market. Let us tell you that the company has introduced Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ in two variants Performance Edition and Racing Edition. Whose starting ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 1.45 crore. This new sedan brings a combination of strong performance, electric driving and premium features, which makes it special in the luxury performance car segment.

Power of 612hp, speed of 0-100kmph in 3.8 seconds

Talking about the new Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+, it has a 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder petrol engine which is supported by an electric motor. Together they generate power of 585hp and torque of 750Nm. When Race Start mode is activated, its total power reaches 612hp. Let us tell you that the company has informed that this high-performance sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 3.8 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 250kmph which can be increased to 280kmph with the AMG Driver’s Package.

Electric range more than 100KM

It is the first plug-in hybrid sedan in the E-Class range from Mercedes-Benz. Let us tell you that the company claims that it gives an electric-only range of more than 100 kilometers as per WLTP standard. Which simply means that daily short distance journeys like commuting to office can be completed without starting the petrol engine. This will not only save fuel but will also provide the high-performance driving experience of AMG when needed.

The new AMG sedan is equipped with advanced features

Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ has many great features in which 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system is given as standard. Apart from this, Active Rear-Axle Steering is also available which provides better turning at low speed and more stability at high speed. The company has launched it in two variants. The Performance Edition is priced at ₹1.45 crore and the Racing Edition is priced at ₹1.48 crore (ex-showroom).

Electrified lineup will get strengthened in India

Speaking at the launch, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “The E-Class has been the longest-running nameplate in the Indian automotive industry and the AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+ focuses on performance, practicality and electric efficiency, making the E-Class portfolio truly unique. The AMG E53 Hybrid is our ‘powertrain agnostic’ for India.” “This further enhances the strategy whereby customers can choose the powertrain of their choice as per their needs.”

Along with this, the company has also announced a multi-year title partnership for the 2026-27 Indian Padel Tour. Now this tournament will be known as Mercedes-Benz Indian Padel Tour in which 19 tournaments will be organized in 11 cities of the country.
