Reaffirming its commitment towards India’s clean mobility mission, Battery Smart – India’s largest battery-swapping network for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers – released its first impact report, “Redefining Mobility, One EV at a Time”. The report offers a detailed overview of how Battery Smart’s partner-based model is transforming India’s EV ecosystem by promoting decarbonization, inclusive growth, and building a resilient, technology-enabled energy network.
With over 95 million battery swaps, 1,600+ swap stations and a growing network of 90,000+ drivers across 50+ cities, Battery Smart has powered over 3.2 billion emission-free kilometers, helping India avoid over 223,000 tonnes of CO₂e emissions so far.
The report reflects the impact on three focus pillars:
Promoting decarbonization: The company is enabling mass EV adoption by making battery swapping accessible, reliable and affordable – which will significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality. To date, the network has helped avoid significant reductions in nitrogen oxide (NOₓ), carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter (PM) pollution in cities, as well as over 223,000 tonnes of CO₂e emissions. Powering prosperity: Through its franchise-based model, the company is promoting entrepreneurship, improving drivers’ earnings and supporting local economic development. To date, drivers have earned over ₹2,800 crore by saving an average of 130 minutes per day, increasing monthly earnings by ₹3,000+. Scaling Smart Systems: With 270,000+ IoT-enabled batteries, a strong circular economy roadmap, and strong safety and inclusion initiatives, Battery Smart is building a scalable, future-ready, technology-driven EV ecosystem at scale.
