Ather Energy launches Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka.

Published:

Ather Energy Limited has officially launched its Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka, marking the company’s expansion into another international market. The launch takes place at the Colombo Motor Show 2025, almost a year after Ather first entered the Sri Lankan market with the Ather 450X.

The Rizta launch is made possible through Ather’s partnership with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd. Ltd., its authorized distributor in Sri Lanka. Since its entry in December 2024, Ather has set up 40 experience centers and installed Ather Grid fast chargers across the country to strengthen local EV infrastructure.

Family Friendly and Connected Scooters

Designed for Sri Lankan riders, Rizta focuses on safety, convenience and connectivity. Key features include:

Rizzta Z variant with 34-litre under-seat storage for family use, spacious floorboard for comfortable ride, skidcontrol technology for better safety, 7-inch TFT display, Google Maps navigation and music and call controls

Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, highlighted the growing potential of the Sri Lankan market while emphasizing the suitability of the Rizta for local riders.

Global expansion and EV infrastructure

Ather’s international expansion began in Nepal in November 2023, where it currently operates 9 experience centers and 7 service centers. In India, Ather has 524 experience centers and 3,643 fast-charging stations by September 2025. Globally, Ather has installed 4,322 fast chargers, including 40 in Sri Lanka and Nepal.

Founded by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013, Ather Energy now offers nine variants across two lines: the performance-oriented Ather 450 series and the convenience-focused Rizta family scooter line.

With Rizta, Ather Energy strengthens its footprint in South Asia, offering safe, connected and family-friendly electric mobility solutions to riders in Sri Lanka.
